Greetings: my name is Estrella Fitch, CEO and Founder of The Healing Journey in Yuma Arizona. I have worked in the field of assisting victim’s of child abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault for 25 years.

The Healing Journey is now a licensed Counseling Agency under the Arizona Department of Health that provides therapy to victims of domestic violence, child abuse, sexual abuse, youth sex trafficking, drug addiction, high-risk behaviors, and self-destructive tendencies.

We offer a safe place where a survivor of abuse can receive the tools in becoming a survivor that thrives! Our groups facilitated by trained survivors, giving back to their peers. The programs are funded by United Way, Community Foundation and The Knisely Family Foundation.

The Healing Journey offers Life Skills classes to high risk students in high schools. The graduation rate of our classes is enormous and we can see the tangible difference in the life of these students.

Our prevention programs work with teens by providing them educational and preventive measures, life strategies’, group topics, and discussions in their peer groups.

The Healing Journey Out Reach Presentations are educating the community in how abuse affects the lives of our children, youth and adult survivors and how to prevent abuse.

This all comes about because of two social workers talking about the need for prevention programs to assist survivors of abuse. I would like to thank Lorraine Banko for sharing this vision with me.

In our agency, we have been able to sustain and maintain our doors open with the community support from APS, Southwest Gas and our fundraising and private donations. We are expanding our programs to reach more survivors of abuse, if you want to be part of this change contact us to know who you can help break the cycle of abuse.
